Memories

How I've missed you, dear old friend..,
My sorrow never seemed to end.
With broken heart and eyes of tears,
I've searched for our lost golden years.

And heavy though my heart may be,
'Twas there I found a treasury...
The precious moments that we shared,
Were all my aching heart had spared.

I found no thoughts of dark despair
To dim the memories shining there.
Your loving warmth and gentle ways,
Had dwelled there through my darkest days.

At last I've found the peace I've sought.
No tears again, my eyes will wear.
For not until I sought my soul,
Did I find you, living there.
