Our Season Of Love

Seasons

If we had met in another time..,
Another place, or in my prime,
How different might our fates now be,
If you and I, were truly free.

If we had danced a slower dance,
Or in a different circumstance,
We may have sparked a passion fire,
And lit the flame of love's desire.

Perhaps our time was out of place,
For I beheld your Summer face,
When Autumn, truly was my season,
But love defies all rhyme or reason.

I had only hoped that for awhile,
I'd have the pleasure of your smile,
And, for a season, dance and sing,
Recapturing my long-lost Spring.

But, Love, like life, is seldom fair,
For I am here, and you are there.
The fates foretold our paths would part,
But your Love lives ever, in my heart!
